January 2009 : Trinity Arts Centre Under Threat of Closure!
West Lindsey District Council have been informed by the Arts Council England, East Midlands office that the Trinity Arts Centre will no longer be funded by ACE after April 2009.
WLDC have said that they will not be able to make good the loss of funding from ACE, EM and the Trinity Arts Centre will therefore close after the last programme on May 2nd 2009, this is our production of 42nd Street.
WLDC have appealed against the Arts Council decision and the final decision on this appeal will be taken on Friday February 5th 2009.
It is worth writing to protest about the original Arts Council decision.
Several people have already written and hope that the more letters received from Trinity Arts Centre users, the better.
A petition containing support from over 5000 local residents has also been submitted to WLDC in the hope of showing them and the Arts Council the strength of feeling regarding this devastating decision.
